Kudos to the present PPP Government! for being fashion conscious and designer savvy! We see uber rich politicians from uber rich feudal families take up the helm and head important ministries. But, apart, from the incumbents of the government all high-profile players of Pakistan's destiny and fate-makers are very up and about and exceedingly HIP! (much to our good-luck, for which we must always and at all times thank the Lord Almighty!)
Besides the fab sunglasses of PTI's Imran Khan, we have our President adorning very expensive branded suits costing a package and a half. To go with the horrendously expensive suits, the president sports a very designer smile which must have cost a hell of lot!
The children of Late Benazir, are not to be left behind and do live a life of envy... we have seem erstwhile famous Kashmala Tariq wearing heavily jeweled sunglasses and carrying seriously expensive designer handbags coming in and out of the Parliament. And now comes.....to beat every other person hollow... Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar!
Ms. Khar, about whom a lot is being written in the Pakistani and Indian media...made a recent trip to India and dazzled (literally) the Indians and the poor souls back home with sleek cut clothes, understated fashion statements and up to the minute vulgarly expensive accessories................ Her BIRKIN bag by Hermes, raised more alarm and comment than her statements on foreign policy, the said bag is quoted at costing a cool 15,000$ or 1.7 million rupees!! whatever the amount, it is enough to buy a car or a small house. What is wrong with the Lady is what I want to ask?
Is Ms. Khar, by carrying a (house) on her arm making a point? other than the majority of 180 million people can go to hell - can anyone take someone like her seriously? I don't care as to where Ms. Khar got the money to buy such a monstrosity, it may very well be hard-earned, tax-paid, thoroughly laundered clean money, the very audacity of her carrying the bag to India is a slap on the face of Pakistani people - the bag says it all - that the leaders (nincompoops) don't give a hoot about the issues facing our country, hell, they can't possibly do so if their reality is so far removed from the problems faced by their fellow country men. Ms. Khar's bag says - "I am very well to do, I have no clue as to what Pakistan is all about, but! hold on!, I can speak English exceedingly well, I have pizazz and style, and I can carry a conversation on the international forum. This is my claim to getting the juicy post of the FM and nothing else.."
Apart, from the bag, as if that wasn't enough, Ms. Khar wore a very expensive diamond solitaire bracelet and when complimented on it boasted "of having one in every color" URGHHH and these are the people who are talking to India about bi-lateral issues on our behalf? I'm already so optimistic of the results.
I have heard and cannot testify for its veracity, that Ms. Khar, paid 5000 rupees in Income Tax last year? How very responsible and kind and gracious of her, to pay this
staggering amount into the government treasury, for it is honest and upright leaders like her who are trail-blazers and pave the way for others to follow suit.
Ms. Khar, I am sure, you have some convoluted and twisted logic to defend your bag and your bracelets and every other expensive thing you own, very well, but I am wondering, just so, that living in the lap of luxury, enjoying the finest of fine things, living in a kind of bubble in this country, WHAT AND WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO REPRESENT US ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD - FOR YOU ARE CERTAINLY NOT ONE OF US!
