oh hell yes! I have and I'm up to my ears with:
'private security' paraphernalia, hung around the bloody necks of the nouveau riche' of Karachi - starts with a huge big ugly looking SUV or whatever those monstrosities are called, blackened glasses, never mind the fact that they are illegal, security-men clad in home spun uniforms of every shade from dark gray to khaki, ala army style, another car like a pick-up following full of scrawny men who look half as nervous with the huge-killing machines in hand, and then the 'seth' or 'sir' or 'madame' inside the car being escorted! sitting huddled like a caged chimpanzee! how stupid are we??? Reality check - what are the statistics of these hired hooligans actually saving the lives of their masters - zero/zilch/nada, I rest my case.
'bijli' not ever being there! I want to scream, rant, holler, abuse, and cry out of sheer frustration! When we have water, at least in the 5 rivers, when there has been rain in the last few years (floods - remember?) then why are we still not being able to produce the damn electricity! Of course the rich and famous all have automatic generators and the bloody money to run them at all times, so they haven't a clue of what we go through. The hellish heat, the hide and seek of this phase coming and that phase going. The constant fluctuation that grips your heart for you can suddenly envision more 'karcha' with the fridge, or the TV or the AC dying on you. I want to know how many hours of load-shedding does the PM Gilani suffer, how many hours of the day does he sit in darkness and heat to be in solidarity with the hapless people he leads? I want to know if the President even has an inkling of what it is to be living in small poorly ventilated dark pigeon holes of homes and then suffer 18 hours plus of load shedding!!!!! I'm positive of one thing - if he had a clue of what we suffer he would certainly not be able to sport that 'smile' of his!
'pseudo-intellects' uffff ho! I don't want to know what they have to say, and I am convinced neither does the rest of the 180 million people of this country. Every reader of a news daily, every couch-potato flicking TV news channels while hogging away, every woman with make-up plastered on her face after having read two books 1) anything on Taliban 2) another called Military Inc., and having a smattering of information on the Mukhtaran Mai case is your classic 'brain', but hang on, how can I forget a few postings of DG this and Director that also makes you maha intelligent, erudite, and a sooth-sayer. Hence, we have a plethora of such non-thinkers telling us how to think - all I have to say is get lost! for let there be 'good-riddance' to bad rubbish.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! don't, before you're able to utter these words, or shake your head vigorously they've gone and splattered dirty water on, and hell are half way cleaning it!!!! this is not on! no matter what anyone says I will never pay them a cent. Because it is nothing but simple blackmail and this is what we believe must be the modus operandi in this sordid city! Call me bitchy, call me petty, call me stingy - but they just irritate the hell out of me and every other person I know.
'MQM resigning from the coalition government every five minutes' Please! why do they go on and behave like a 'nakhrili kept woman' whose nararz all the time and then must be coaxed and cajoled and bribed and smooched into the arms of the illicit lover! they have lost all the respect (doubtful) they ever had, because again this constant dillydallying is childish and makes one wonder that while this little tryst is going on who's in charge and who's doing the job that must be done by these leaders? But then such frivolous questions aren't the domain of our very statesmen like leaders.
