We are all in bondage. We are all slaves. We are all in oppression and under suppression.
What is this Human bondage that is inherent in human nature? We are viscerally servile to our needs, our emotions and passions, our doubts and fears, our anxieties and worries, we have constant strains with 'free will' and 'determinism'. Is everything a matter of choice, are we responsible for all our actions per se, or is every move of ours is predetermined by a greater power and this therefore absolves us of all ownership.
Whatever the case may be, one fact is very clear. We are not in complete charge of our affairs - hell - not even of ourselves and our circumstance. A lot of what happens depends on what is outside of our control. How other people behave, how situations turn out, what happens and what doesn't. These constraints are part of the human condition; being human we are tied to what is beyond us, without us, outside us... and what is outside of us is unknown territory.
What becomes a problem is when we let other people have a hold over us, we willingly let the reins of our life in the hands of others in the name of love, commitment, passion, joy, and at times duty and circumstance. We let others decide the paths we take, the roads we traverse and how we travel on them, we let them tell us and choose for us what goals to set for ourselves, and at times not to set any goals at all. We begin to see or rather become 'invisible' to ourselves, we erase our uniqueness, our personalities, our individuality to accommodate those who 'love' us and whom we love. Such love is nothing but a euphemism for 'slavery'. We enter into a lost deal, a Faustian bargain so to speak where we get what we want, but at what price?
A lot of misery, domination, hatred and violence is perpetuated and practised under the garb of family values, culture, good behavior, morality and of course love and possessiveness. In my opinion, any relationship, any tie that stifles who you are, which puts bars on your being, in which you fail to thrive and blossom in your own glory, in which you don't glitter as a person is not based on love and regard and respect, rather it is a bondage, that needs to be broken down.
One can only breathe freely if one is free in spirit, in thought, in imagination and in dreams... where fears, anger, hate, screams and pain of submission doesn't exist. Where one is free to be oneself!
I welcome myself to this free state of being and its absolute bliss!!!!!
