Come again? why exactly are you here?
The last time I heard of Senator Kerry was in relation to the Kerry Luger Bill, the infamous Bill that was tabled to block aid to Pakistan if we did not toe their line i.e of American government. Nothing surprising there because we have been snubbed, ridiculed, out right insulted, and ignored by our best pals and strongest allies the Americans time and again. But, why would we ever learn our lesson? remember the old adage' those who don't learn form history are bound to repeat it.' We as a nation have lost our sense of pride, in simple words we have become 'beghairat' a hard word to translate in English as it fails to communicate the compliance and the sheer shamelessness of the person or entity who is one. We simply don't care how we are perceived as a country/nation by the rest of the world or for that matter what do we as one nation stand for ourselves.
Kerry says he is here not to give dictation as we are a free country with a just system of justice, fair enough, then my question is why is he here? what for? and why to Lahore? He is here for one reason and that is to place pressure on our already spineless government to release Raymond Davis. The gall of the man! how can he come to Pakistan and discuss a matter which is currently subjudice, isn't that called direly influencing the dispensation of justice?
The last time i checked, Americans were the upholders of 'rule of law', of 'human rights' of a 'free and fair judicial system. So why the double standards now? How dare you come to our country Mr. Kerry to negotiate a safe passage for a murderer? Is an American life worth more than that of three Pakistanis? And what makes you think that even with diplomatic /consular immunity heinous crimes like this triple murder in cold blood by a professional is excusable? You have stated, how 'small matters' such as the cold blooded murder of three Pakistanis must not overshadow the larger interests and wider scope of mutual understanding the two countries share, like we begging you for aid.
The hard and jarring truth is Mr. Kerry that you are here to dictate and order, you will not tolerate the trial of an American citizen in this country (what if hes killed few here and there) because Raymond Davis is not just one American life, he is representative of the American prowess, its sheer arrogance in dealing with other weaker regimes, he stands for all what America despises in other countries but explains away in their own, he is that other darker face of America reminiscent of the dark side of the moon, we know its there, we know its dark and cruel and selfish and crass and gruesome, but we try to hoodwink ourselves that it might be only our imagination as it is forever hidden from our view and that America is only like the soft silvery pleasing light of the full moon!
