the dictionary of philosophic terms

A. the first letter of the alphabet, alif, the mark of distinction as in grade A. A has become synonymous to success in the material sense. To be an ace is to be good at all things that denote material well being and prosperity. Type A personality is one who is hyper by any sane standard, but "ace" in the worldly sense, a person be it a man or a woman who will sacrifice everything (and that is good?) to get ahead in the world, as a result he/she is distressed, prone to heart disease, a victim of hurry mania and so forth.

Allah. The Arabic denotion for God. The god of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad. According to Muslims the only God and the only God worth worshipping as all others are merely distortions of him. If u ask a Muslim to define how he envisions this God (and we all do in our minds whether we want to or not) he would be overtly offended because Allah is beyond descriptions and definitions. Any attempt to understand him is impossible hence the effort is never made. But I have a vision of God, a being, somewhere above, a father figure (i know)

Anger. What we feel towards others mostly, and hardly ever towards ourselves. The seething emotion that burns from within, the tension found in the streets of Karachi. The rage at the unfairness of life.

Affection. What is missing in relationships now.

Affectation. The artifice and put on behaviour. The false images we create of ourselves to impress others knowing little that we impress less and make a fool of ourselves more. The acts and wiles of our society women who then complain of perpetual fatigue - a natural consequence of being under constant and prolonged pressure of acting in a certain accepted and approved manner.
