The murderers of SELF and the marauders of individuality define the norm in this society. If you dare to be different, if you choose to air divergent views, if your way of thinking isn't aligned with a particular and authorized school of thought then god help you. You are instantly branded as an outcast, an intruder, a weirdo, a reactionary, an unpatriotic bastard, a treasonous and seditious, blasphemer! How all this comes to pass by just having the ability to think for yourself once in a while is the mystery of all mysteries and beats any effort of detanglement.
I have many views and thoughts that if penned down at this forum can get me into a lot of trouble with my friends and family, my country and my religion. Why is that? Why even asking logical and even illogical questions a taboo in Pakistan, why through atrocious laws, in the Pakistan Penal Code, that horrific tome of inexplicable statues. It seems with every step you are breaking one or the other law of this sordid nation, living here has become synonymous with walking on egg-shells. It doesn't make for a healthy vibrant and nourishing environment to be and grow in.
I want to know what people think actually? What are their views on sensitive issues like ethnicity, sharia laws, blasphemy laws, drone attacks and so on. I don't want a rehash of some age old dictum such as "ye to hamesha se chala aa raha he" and "this country is going down the tubes," we are a sorry excuse for a nation. Thoughtless, empty, vacuous, inane and quite dumb to begin with.
We have no original ideas and we don't go below the surface of anything we merely mimic and repeat whatever other people say. So its like chirping of the birds or perhaps barking of the dogs that follow one lead to another in so a horrendous cacophony without a purpose.
