My blood boils, heart races fast, anger spews, at the merciless killings of poor, desolate, and abandoned people of Karachi, who are being killed in cold blood every hour on the hour for purposes that suit only a few. And, despite the obvious pointers of who might be behind this lawlessness: there are lies, and some more blatant, lies that are thrown like bits of stinking meat to the pariah dogs on the streets. We are the dispensable, the unnecessary, the unneeded pawns in a game of thuggery, stealth, and plain gang war which is always over turf and money. What we are seeing isn't the result of people coming out on the streets for their ethnic rights rather a war going on between the war lords of the 'underworld' that rule the real Karachi, all with its 'bhatta system', the water-tanker business, the bajri business, the transport business and so on and so forth.
Please don't try and hoodwink us by saying that pathans are killing the mohajirs and vice versa, for this isn't whats happening now. The ground reality is very different. It is not the militants of a party that are out on a killing spree, injured by the injustices meted out to them over the years. In Karachi there is no element, no community, no area that is thus slighted and overlooked and depressed. More or less every one is getting the share of the pie and want to live their lives amidst peace. People do not want disturbance for that brings halt to economic activity and that is certainly resented. Then who is behind the killings of Karachi?
Are we that stupid? Do we actually come across as perennially unintelligent, nay, retarded people, that day in day out our fellow citizens are being mauled down and we are told endlessly on TV and newspapers the various inane theories on who's behind what and where! It is as simple as 2 plus 2.
Who controls Karachi? Without a doubt its the MQM, whenever Karachi is to be brought to a standstill the leader with the dark glasses and a even darker soul hails a strike call and Lo, and Behold all comes to a halt. This happens when MQM isn't in the government! So what happens when it is in the government? they cry on TV and feign innocence and total impotency at the situation in Karachi! WHY is that?? If they have such a fastidious hold on this city and we all know for a fact that they do then what's the issue? Why talk of police and law-enforcing agencies now when random killings are taking place in the hometown of MQM? They blame the ANP and the Lyari's own People's Aman Committee for the violence whereas we know the violence is self perpetuated to a very high degree and then takes on an escalation.
Am I blaming the MQM for violence and target killing in Karachi, yes I am. For nothing can take place in this city without their call. They are foremost controllers of the city and time and again we have seen that proven, what of stopping Imran Khan from coming here? And what about the fiasco of the Chief Justice being refused entry in the city. A party with that kind of street power is now helpless in facing random killers? That is a joke which no one is laughing at. The MQM are on a killing spree and showing it as the wrath of an insulted and ditched alliance with the central government. Of course there are other players for the fight here is money and land and power. These killings are not for any ethnic rights (in case you were still in this delusion) they are between the militias of these parties that play havoc with Karachi every time there is a shift in power. The MQM wants to play the victim all the time despite having massive power in this urban area, and it is now nauseating to stomach their constant bewailings for they all are false. For I want to know, if not from the underworld reign in Karachi who is sponsoring the eternal regal sojourn of Mr. Altaf Hussain in London?
The MQM and ANP along with the People's Aman Committee of Lyari are three organizations people of Karachi would be best rid of. But such are stuff dreams are made of, we have to face the reality, and it is grim for now, and for Karachi's future all the more and is linked to nothing but greed of the powers that be!
