We certainly don't need others to malign us, ruin us, defame us, and crucify us! We do a magnificent job of doing that all by ourselves and take serious pride in it.
I am hardly a fan of any AMIR of any Islamic leaning political party but when a friend asked me to check out what Munawar Hasan Amir of Jamat-e-Islami has to say about 'rape and the production of 4 witnesses' my mind did a somersault! I was hit by a rocket launcher, no a drone, nope a hand-grenade, perhaps a suicide-bomber! What is this man saying?
His convoluted wisdom is that since it is virtually impossible to produce 4 adult witnesses to rape, a necessary requirement for a man to be accused and tried for rape as per Islamic laws. It is better, no somehow, it is implied in the Quran by putting such an impossible condition that rape stays unreported because bringing any man to justice would mean defaming the woman and disrupting the society. HUH?? Am I mad? or is this what he says?
Well, another good news to the 'rapists' all over the world, please, get on the first flight to this haven of rapists which not only 'blames' the woman for inviting rape, but, insists that that a raped woman must not indulge in any reporting of the crime. A man who has raped, is essentially, a free-man in the state envisioned by the henceforth rhetoric-spewing AMIR! of Jamat-e-Islami, such an enlightened man surely getting my vote in the next elections.
Which world are we living in? What are we saying? Do we ever think before we utter anything especially utter-nonsense! no, why, should we because we have a shield with us, every twisted misogynistic, misanthropic, bigoted, racist illogical non-argument is supported by citing Quran and the Sunnah!
We need a reality check and the sooner the better, my sincere advice to the powers that be - put all these mullahs on a ship and sink it in high sea ala Kemal Attaturk of Turkey style!
