Please remind me...... Why exactly are we nursing huge ARMED FORCES

I've always been absent-minded, a little slow in understanding, what people get in a second I take hours to digest and process, so please bear with me and help me comprehend the situation on ground.

I believe, I am told in the news, that a bevy of American Army helicopters entered the Pakistani air-space flying to Abbotabad which is way off from Afghanistan and landed there. Their commandos then disembarked and carried on the fateful 'operation' that has supposedly killed Osama Bin Laden and his son and some other people including two children. After the operation they got back into their helicopters and flew off, one of their helicopters developed some problems and hence they abandoned it and destroyed it, and finally flew off with OBL's body.

These are the facts. Now, the official position till now was absolute silence. No comment came forth, no clarification was made, nothing was said as if the government does not exist ( again a very debatable point.) This evening the sovereign government of Pakistan has announced that they had 'no clue' of this expedition, they were completely in the dark!

Pakistan is a land of many wonders, and they never cease here. Look at the audacity and the sheer stupidity of this declaration by the foreign office, we are telling the world that another army can sneak into our backyard do its business and we would remain none the wiser. HUH? Am I retarded? or is this what is being said? or is this one way of getting out of this mess that is of playing the hospitable host to the most wanted man in the world. What exactly are we saying?

Now to the crux of the matter, the governments of the day can be foolish ( as they usually are) but, what about our Pak jawans? our indomitable, gargantuan, white-elephant of an army and the air-force? What exactly were the hundreds of Colonels, and majors and Generals and commodores doing at that very hour while on their soil (which they claim to defend in hundreds of milli naghme) a foreign army was carrying out an illicit run. Where they twiddling their thumbs? no, perhaps they were in the serious process of deciding which havaldar or subedar will be denied leave in the interest of National security, or maybe they were burning the midnight oil in planing a brand new housing society and then marking the juiciest plots for themselves, or maybe just maybe they were taking a few minutes out of their over busy and burdening schedule to indulge in a night cap!

I want an answer and a straight one, and I think every Pakistani should ask this of their army: where were you? How can the planes of a hostile country come into your airspace and you just stay put, and you have the nerve to say that the helicopter flight was scrambled, oh, excuse me you mean to say that the nuclear bombs that we are sitting on are of no use because our radars can be jammed! hell! I feel so at ease and safe now that I know this and I know this vigilant army is out there doing shit all!

Please, dont be disgrace to this nation, and hello where is the ever present in the news General-I'm -not interested-in-politics chief of the Army, we need a plausible statement and that too on the double!

Either, admit you knew of it all, and instead of aiding the Americans you were told to stay put and out of the way as we usually tell servants and children, or admit that they saw, they flew and they killed while you were sitting on your fat assess. That's the basic truth both ways you come out looking incompetent and highly unnecessary.

It's time we rethink this massive army of useless recruits.
