It's never a good time to be a Pakistani. If you are in the country, you are not a free citizen of an independent state, rather an ethnic minority. If you are fortunate to be living in another country or traveling then you are a Paki, never mind the color of your passport. Pakistan has been in a bad place since the leader of all leaders General Zia tried to cash in on the Afghan fiasco so the lesson is there is never a thing called 'free lunch', but then we all have dyslexia here so we don't understand what it all means.
It amazes me, the stupidity of our more or less self appointed leaders, that they do not let a chance go by where they can prove that they have no backbone, they are ready to clean up America's shit, that they dare not and will never think for themselves ( for they can't) and they will also suck up to the powers that be no matter what it takes. Mr. Hussain Haqqani, enjoying the juicy post of ambassador to the world's keeper, has made a very intelligent statement today, he says that 'we had no information on this operation' wow! that is very smart, or is there a point in taking this naive stance, if there is please make us privy to it, because on the face of it its an admission of servility. And on top of this, his grovelling, of how relations must be maintained with the Us of A. Why? because they pay us? in that case we should acknowledge ourselves to be a satellite state of the US, no more than a lackey and sit back and shut up! Don't make us puke with this endless rhetoric of sovereignty and parliamentary supremacy.
I cringe every time I hear such vacuous and inane statements being made, doled out to the hungry public as pearls of infinite wisdom, please shut up Mr. Haqqani for your own good and also for our collective conscience. Now to the PM, the time you spend on coloring your hair (facial included) that dark foreboding black of hell's sky, please read up on great leaders in history and their deportment, learn, imitate, copy, act! do something right and don't ever say you didn't know this or that about the going-ons in the country! You profess ignorance as though its a virtue! as though you are above the petty squabbling of the females in the harem!!! This is the country we are talking about lest you are forgetting and by the way you're in charge!
Then we have Senator Buledi, saying the parliament is all independent and powerful, that's fine, but Mr. Buledi which country are you talking about? the UK I suppose? because it cannot be Pakistan, and if anyone today seriously believes that he has to be delusional, so get yourself checked.
Mr. President of the fixed smile has nothing to say at this juncture, he is calling Altaf bhai in London on more important issues of the day errr.. like splitting the pie.
I think we should all mourn for what used to an independent country once and is now no more, nukes or no, we are servants of the US to a tee, and the sooner we accept it the better it is, after all our leaders have, and they seem to be doing rather well for it!
