I have, had, and will have GREAT EXPECTATIONS. Don't we all? At every juncture, in every situation, from every person we expect one thing or another. And that brings us to the next closet thing to it and that is disappointment. All through life we knit this web of expectations and then unravel it with disappointments, but no matter how many times we are shown the sordid picture of broken dreams, and false promises, and unrequited love, and ruthless people, we like, automatons keep expecting, if only from some other source.
As humans we need to keep needing something or the other, we harbor and instill fond favors from other people, we want then to be a certain way, to want us in a peculiar manner as we define it, we to influence others, perhaps be there for us when we want them and how we want them. Even as I write this it sounds so preposterous, so demanding, somehow wrong to put so much o a pressure on another to give and come up to our expectations. But, that has never stopped me from expecting this or that from people. And we get angry, frustrated when they don't come to meet whatever it is we ask of them? Is that fair?
All I know is expectations lead to disappointments.
