THE SILENCE OF SOLITUDE

is the only opiate that rejuvenates the mind and recharges the soul. A long interlude of being with oneself, in one's own society, with nothing but one's thoughts for company is bliss and must be mandatory exercise for every adult. Most people generally have a fear of being alone, being alone is not the state of choice with us, we try to be with people, alone usually symbolizes an inflicted and not a desired state. One is alone because other people do not want to be with him or he has no one close to him, and not because one wants to be. If you are alone people feel sorry for you, at times your behavior is seen as becoming eccentric due to lack of company. We have all heard stories of sour old men who are angry and grumpy as a result of living alone, having no one to care for them, and of people becoming mean because of being too much on their own.

My solitude is not loneliness, it is a calm place to be with your self, to just be without the tiresome job of being 'someone' in particular, a time where I don't have to think any thing, where my mind can stop its incessant chatter, where I am without any masks, any apparel, any stance! where I don't make a point or don't have to, where opinions, judgments, emotions, and feelings come to a stand still.
